On Monday 18th November, the Canine Section's three Area Search dog teams were activated to a search in the Perth Hills for a missing man. Chris and Kelpie, Piper; Leonie and Border Collie, Jemma and; Stephanie and Labrador cross, Karma searched bushland areas surrounding the Mundaring town centre. The missing man was found later that afternoon by WA Police- a positive outcome for all involved.
DFES Education and Heritage Centre Open Day
On Sunday 17th November, Leonie and Stephanie and Area Search dogs Jemma and Karma spent the day at the Department of Fire and Emergency Services Education and Heritage Centre. They were able to meet so many families and people who wanted to learn more about what the Emergency Services do for the community. Some were even lucky to ride on the vintage fire trucks!
The Education Centre is fantastic for kids with interactive displays and plenty to see and learn. http://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/educationandheritage/fehc/Pages/default.aspx
Thank you to all who came along, thank you to the DFES support staff, the Salvation Army for providing a sausage sizzle and refreshments and to all the volunteers- you do such a great job!
